In late 1951, our beloved mother, Mary Sullivan (Ni Hurley) was pregnant with her fourth child
when she was rushed to hospital in Cork City, with a serious infection.
The entire Kealkill community gathered at Lady's Well to pray for her.
Following her full recovery, she gave birth to Noreen (Hanora Bridget) in May 1952.
Our father, John "Jack" (O')Sullivan expressed his gratitude by building this shrine, situated above Lady's Well, with the help of his brother, Michael O'Sullivan, our mother's brother, Denis Hurley, and friends.
